Philipe Halsman was born in Riga, Latvia may 2 1906. He became an American portrait photographer after moving to New York in the early 1940's. He was accused of murdering his father in 1922, he was pardoned and released in 1930. Halsman went on to take photos of many well known people including Albert Einstein, and former U.S. President John F. Kennedy. Along his journey of becoming one of the greatest photographers he achieved plenty magazine covers and published a couple of books. He was a fan of making his clients jump during pictures because, when a person jumps the mask falls off and the real person appears. He gave the name jumpology to the photos in which people were jumping.
My group was inspired by Philipe Halsman because of the great technique he used when taking pictures, which is "jumpology."
Philippe Halsman eh? I LIKE YOUR PHOTOS.
